Free admission to over 50 events during Copenhagen Architecture + Design Days

The best of Copenhagen's architecture and design will be in the spotlight from May 18 - 20 when the Danish capital plays host to Copenhagen Architecture + Design Days, Cph ADD. Whether its listening to jazz at the top of the Turning Torso building in Malmø, cocktails at Arne Jacobsen's SAS hotel, a clandestine walk through the city, Søren Ulrick Thomsen and Jokum Rohde's "Copenhagen con amore" or a sunset over Ørestads developments, there is something for everyone. And it is all for free.

It has been quite some time since so many Danish and international architects have worked simultaneously revitalizing the face of Copenhagen. For the second year in a row, Wonderful Copenhagen is highlighting these projects during Copenhagen Architecture + Design Days. There are over 50 different activities and events - and they are all free.

Would you like to take part in drawing the Nørreport station of the future? Decide what should be on the Carlsberg grounds or create a new city? Would you like to experience architects at work in nature, hear the concept behind the building of Tietgenkollegiet, see Rud Rasmussen's cabinet works or visit the country's largest creative collaboration community?

During three intense days, museums, drafting studios, architects, agencies, organizations and companies will open their doors to the public and provide us with the opportunity to get a glimpse of what happens behind the façade - something we otherwise would not have a chance to experience.

"Our goal with Cph ADD is to create an event that can live up to Copenhagen's position as an influential centre for European architecture and design. Everyone has made a determined effort to put together a program that will give the public experiences that are out of the ordinary. This year, Malmø is included in the program. During the festival, the building Turning Torso will be on public display for the first time," says Martin Bender, the event manager from Wonderful Copenhagen.

10 events from the program you won't want to miss:

  • Jokum Rohde and Søren Ulrick Thomsen tell stories and share pictures of the "everyday-Copenhagen"
  • Architect, Kim Utzon, presents his building in Copenhagen's harbour
  • Copenhagen Jazz Festival is responsible for the music in "Konkylien", The Conch, at Kastrup Søbad bathing platform
  • City walks to artist Thierry Geoffrey's (‘Colonel') secret places
  • Illumenat's scenic lighting designs on buildings in Ørestad are accompanied by electronic music from Rumpistol
